I received a B.A. from California State University Northridge in 1993 and
an M.F.A. from California State Long Beach in 1998. My degrees are entirely
incidental and have very little or no bearing on the entire concept of me being
an artist. For as long as I could remember, I have tried to create. When I was
four, I tried to make my Mickey Mouse Record Player into a potter’s wheel by
turning it up to 78 RPM. I have been creating ever since. The current manifestations
shown in this gallery are an answer to my association with the O.T.O. and my
spiritual explorations into the occult. For me, the need to create is not a
deeply philosophical debate. It is simply that: a need. I create in a number of
ways. Metal is only one medium. Food is another. If I had my druthers, I would
figure out a way to open a European-style Bistro where I could prepare delicate
little morsels for the stomach, make jewelry for the body, write a book for the
intellect, and perform music for the soul. Ah, the joys of being a
Gemini… No one thing is ever good enough. |
