Mahlmeister – The Great Rite and Flowerdancer

The mythical has always drawn me
– classical Greek and Roman standards of beauty that reached across the years
with their vague enigmatic looks. Mysterious and secretive alone in the sea of
time, they peer out upon a world that has seen change and remind us that ONCE
UPON A TIME, there was....
Sensual and innocent, ancient and otherworldly, these are the realms that I am
transported to while creating the art that I am sharing with the world. Into
each picture a part of me is embedded, my dreams, visions, hopes and fears all
live within the images before you. It is said that a poet cuts himself and
writes in his own blood while it still flows. With visual art it's a sharing of
the deepest parts of the psyche, from a place where there are no words, only
symbols that carry images up from the depths of our subconscious. Art is simply
the vehicle that allows us to share it with others.
Within the landscapes, I have attempted to create a feeling of timelessness.
These are images that would have been seen 200, 300 or even 1000 years ago,
places where man hasn't intruded or his workings are in the process of being
reclaimed by nature.
But it is within the human form that I find the deepest mysteries; innocence
mixed with passion, desire with a fear that touching would break the soap bubble
that holds the dreamer intact for us to see. Poised at the boundary betwixt the
waking world and a dream, forever trapped in time by the medium, the ultimate
feminine, the Goddess reborn.
By using the power of the computer to combine the human form and landscapes,
timeless secrets emerge to be contemplated, enjoyed examined, but most of all to
awaken the sense of mystery within you, the observer.
