The creations of these designs are an
expression of my inner life and meditations.
Each design reflects a personal idea and represents a form in which I fix
my conception in time and space. As an art form, the
tradition of intentional design and execution was brought to high levels in the
esoteric disciplines of Mandala and Yantra. While retaining some elements of
traditional geometry, my designs are simply my own. Each design reflects the creation and "coming into
being" of a specific idea and desire. I find the use of a textile medium ideal for this type of design.
The primary stitch used is the couching stitch.
The textural flexibility and subtle shading of the material allows me to
stitch my intention into a coherent whole for you to view. My designs are executed in silence, yet intended to whisper their
meaning to those who find resonance in my vision... I have a Degree in
Fashion and Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los
Angeles California and am currently employed in the garment industry by Cutter
& Buck of Seattle Washington. |
