Rob Cluff –

Untitled Chalice and Untitled Print

Blown Glass, Mixed Media, and Viscosity Print

I earned a B.F.A. from CSU Fullerton as well as pursued graduate study at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Currently I am working in a variety of media and introducing art to high school students. The artwork is largely symbolic, combining images and meaning of the personal as well as the collective, conscious and unconscious. The artwork comprises the entirety of the piece, from its place in history; its conception, to the final work. The art attempts to capture a moment in time, yet remain timeless.

I try to let the work speak for itself. Each viewer draws from their own symbolic associations and experiences when viewing art, thus the materials and context may become content. I'm influenced by a variety of contemporary and historical artists, as well as music, literature, and personal experience.
